Liagis Margfirar has been a student of the Runes and dedicated Runeworker for over six years and has gone so far as to publish the Runic workbook and reference guide titled “Runes? Runes.” They are also an avid creator, poet, and artist who specializes in BindRune magic and sigil work, blending the magic of the Runes to aid in today's needs.
As a psychopomp and death doula the Runes were there to help unlock the knowledge needed to help those beings passed on and the ones still here grieving, forming the Runes into spells using the renowned poetry meters of skaldic and eddic fame to form last rites, eulogies, and memorials.
When asked why work with the Runes, or what the Runes mean to them, Liagis had this to say: “To me in their truest essence, when we see them for them, the Runes are not just symbols: they are cosmic and divine beings complete with their own agency and personalities. My time with them, my relationship with them as I walk this adventure called life, continues to embolden me. It continues to strengthen me, and it continues to allow me to enjoy the things I love most in this life: being there for others when they need it most. They continue to ignite my spirit, shape my destiny, and serve as the most innate language I've understood. These are the Runes. They are living, breathing forces that continuously guide me through the joyful, and sometimes relentless, march of time.”
