Mani's Lullaby (Spell/Ritual)

Circa February 2025 I was inspired by one of my dearest kin to make a dream Bind Rune and I did just that, but it didn’t feel right to hide it away when I know so many with sleep related complications, issues, and sheer lack thereof.

When I shared this Bind Rune with my kin they told me they were going to meditate on it and place it under their pillow that night before going to sleep, and it hit me that when it came time to write this I wanted to take a similar meditation focused approach.

This doesn’t mean that you can’t use this Bind Rune in the ways laid out in My Tesseract post. If a talisman, or paper, or some other form of using the Bind Rune inspires you, then you do you boo boo. I will always encourage experimentation within one’s practice and exploring venues not seen before.

Why meditation? Part of having a successful rest period of any kind is allowing ourselves to be grounded, centered, and calm. The best and easiest way to do this concerning sleep for me is a meditation session.

By undergoing mediation you are purposely taking yourself through that process of grounding, centering, and then calming and this then allows you to have a better ingestion of the intent you have placed forward. For example, the main purpose and intent that I made this Bind Rune for is to bring the user calm dreams, and restful sleep free of one’s stressors, anxieties, worries, fears, and nightmares.

The Mediation

Setup:

1.Set your space and gather materials. I always recommend having a snack or beverage to help ground if needed. Turn on music if you desire, light candles or incense, and anything else that helps make your space yours.

2.Set up a reference image of the Bind Rune in an easy to see space that will allow you to stay in a comfortable position when focusing on it.

  1. Find a comfortable position to either sit or lay in, making sure you can easily and without stress or contortion focus on the Bind Rune.

  2. Pre meditation grounding, I recommend breathing in for a 9 count, holding for 13, and out for a 9 count. You may also find that you prefer the exercise of standard box breathing to be easier to achieve a mediative state.

With box breathing there are four steps. 1. Breathe all the way out, then breathe out for four seconds with no air in your lungs. 2.Take a slow, full breath in over four seconds. 3. With your lungs comfortably full, hold your breath for four seconds. 4. Breathe out slowly and completely over four seconds. (If neither option is feasible for you please adjust accordingly)

4.5 As you begin the grounding breaths start releasing any physical tension. Let that liminal feeling take hold during the long count and roll your shoulders down and away from your ears to release tension in your neck and shoulders. Continue this process down your body with each cycle relaxing your chest, belly, pelvis and legs with each breath cycle, focusing on that feeling of weightlessness until you feel open and ready to begin meditation.

  1. This is where we change things up, while keeping your breath cycle open your eyes and focus on the Bind Rune let your eyes move in and out of focus as they need to be coming blurry and clear in intervals, and focus on the sensations, messages, and the way your sense react to the Bind Rune.

  2. You may end the meditation whenever you feel it is time, but I recommend keeping it shorter and under 20 minutes. When ending the meditation you will close your eyes, and conduct three more cycles of breathing but this time your focus will be your desired goal to achieve during sleep that night.

  3. Now that you are re grounded, take a drink and a bite and enjoy your night or naps rest, I don’t judge.
